Welcome to the Green Team at this year's vibrant music festival! As volunteers dedicated to environmental stewardship, we play a crucial role in ensuring that this event is not only a celebration of music but also a testament to sustainability. Our mission is clear: to minimize waste, maximize recycling efforts, and foster an Eco-conscious atmosphere throughout the festival grounds. Together, we will implement innovative strategies, engage festival-goers in mindful practices, and inspire positive change within our community. Let's unite our passion for music with our commitment to the planet, creating a harmonious environment where every action counts towards a greener future.

Duties:

​

• Conducting regular patrols of the festival grounds to identify and address areas in need of cleaning or waste management.

• Collecting and sorting recyclable materials, including plastic bottles, aluminum cans, and paper products, to minimize waste and promote recycling efforts.

• Assisting festival attendees with proper waste disposal by providing guidance and information on recycling and composting practices.

• Emptying and replacing trash and recycling bins throughout the festival grounds to ensure adequate waste receptacles are available.

• Monitoring restroom facilities and replenishing supplies as needed to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards.

• Participating in post-event clean-up activities, including litter collection, waste separation, and dismantling of temporary structures.

• Collaborating with other team members and festival staff to implement sustainable practices and reduce the event's environmental footprint.

• Educating festival attendees about the importance of sustainability and encouraging Eco-friendly behaviours throughout the event.

• Reporting any safety hazards, incidents, or environmental concerns to the appropriate personnel promptly.

 

Requirements:

• Passion for environmental conservation and sustainability efforts.

• Strong work ethic and willingness to perform physical tasks in an outdoor festival environment.

• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow instructions effectively.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with festival attendees in a friendly and informative manner.

• Reliable and punctual, with a commitment to fulfilling assigned shifts and responsibilities.

• Basic knowledge of recycling and waste management principles is preferred but not required (training will be provided).

• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions for extended periods.

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
